– Toulouse back row forward Christian Labit is set to become the first player to make 50 tournament appearances for Toulouse – five of Fabien Pelous’ 50 Heineken Cup matches were for Dax. Labit starts the 10th anniversary season with 48 caps

– Injured Scarlets hooker Robyn McBryde (53 caps) misses only his third match out of the club’s 56 Heineken Cup matches, starting in the last 19 fixtures

– This is the Scarlets 27th home game – losing just four times at Stradey Park. Leinster won 27-33 in 1998; Gloucester 20-27 in 2000 and Perpignan and Biarritz Olympique beat them in the quarter-finals of the last two tournaments

– Toulouse have lost three of their opening Pool matches in the nine seasons of the Heineken Cup – home to Saracens in 2000, away to Leinster in 2001 and in Edinburgh last season

– Toulouse need 45 points to be the first team to break the 2,000 points barrier

– Toulouse have reached the knock-out stages seven times in nine tournaments

– Scarlets have reached the knock-out stages six times in eight competitions

– This is the sixth time the Scarlets have started the tournament with a home match. They have a 50 per cent record from their opening match in the past eight seasons

– This is the off-the-field battle between the two coaches with the most experience in European club rugby. Guy Noves has a 71 per cent success rate over Toulouse‘s 63 games in nine seasons – including three final appearances and two wins. Gareth Jenkins will be in charge of his 56th game with the Scarlets and so far has a 62 per cent success rate – including two semi-final appearances

– Top English Referee Chris White, who was in charge of the 2003 final when Toulouse beat Perpignan 22-17 in Dublin, tonight equals the Heineken Cup record of 27 matches by Ireland‘s Dave McHugh. It will be his third tournament match at Stradey Park – the first was in 1999 / 2000 when the Scarlets beat Ulster 20-3 and his last visit was the quarter-final last season when Biarritz Olympique won 27-10

– He has been in charge of six matches involving Toulouse – and the 1996 and 2003 champions have won the lot
