Llanharan will travel to Carmarthen Athletic on May 15 for what what looks increasingly like the deciding game, if they win their other two games in hand, and even then the title could well be decided on try count.
Dennis John’s side have three more games than Maesteg remaining with which to close the leaders’ nine point and 13 try advantage and will hope for more of the same from full-back Marc Davies who passed 400 points for the season at the weekend.
After being held 19-15 at half-time at Blackwood, Llanharan ran in seven tries in a 43-15 win as Davies scored two tries and four conversions to take his tally to 402 for the season. Fly half Mark Roper’s two tries took him to 21.
Maesteg won 53-5 at Tredegar with Grant Epton gaining his 25th try; Alun Brown his 20th and Liam Gadd added a try, five conversions and a penalty.
Beddau gained a fine 41-26 win over Carmarthen Athletic with tries by Damian Adams (2), Mark Gronow (2), Rob Downes and Carl Thomas. Brynmawr followed a 72-7 midweek win over Tondu with a 58-3 bashing of Bonymaen as Jason Williams raced past 300 points.
Andrew James (2) and Dan Gravell scored the Narberth tries in a 22-10 win at Glamorgan Wanderers and Whitland won 61-10 at Treorchy as nine seperate players touched down with Aled Davies kicking eight conversions as Morgan Stoddard scored all the Zebras points.
Llangennech won 29-15 at UWIC and Rumney beat Tondu 43-6 with tries by Dan Clements, Stuart Coles, Ian McIntyre, Carl Barker, Ryan Sutton, Paul Niblett
and a penalty try.
