Record-breaking captain Sam Warburton says Wales’ dream of Six Nations glory has allowed them to shake-off the bumps and bruises from the brutal victory over Ireland.

Warren Gatland’s side kickoff ‘Super Saturday’ against Italy as they look to snatch the Six Nations crown from under the noses of England and Ireland. They currently sit behind the pair on points difference, needing to overturn a 26-point deficit.

And Warburton says they are putting in the hard-graft in training to ensure they do all they can to secure a third title in three seasons.

He said:”It’s nice because we’ve still got the Championship at stake. So even though there might still be few small aches and pains there is a massive motivation to get things right for this Saturday because it’s all to play for.

“You still need those sharp bits of training, you don’t really want to go off the boil in training because then you tend to get caught cold. So you want to keep a certain intensity in your training but the day or two days after the game there is not a whole lot of work going on anyway and that’s normal for any week.”

Wales will watch with baited breath as Scotland hope to upset Ireland before France travel to Twickenham to take-on England. All they can do is try and rack up the points in Rome, but Warburton does not want his side to get ahead of themselves.
He said: “We’ve got to go in there first just thinking about building a score, doing what we normally do, rather than getting carried away with ourselves.

“Winning the game has got to be the first priority and then talking to the decision makers when we feel we’re in a decent place if we should go for corners. Away from home two years ago it took a while for us to break them down and I expect the same thing this time.”
