ASDA LEAGUES WEST DIVISIONS ROUND UP

Centre David Gibson scored six of his side’s 18 tries, and Wyn Banfield chimed in with a handy 37 points as bottom-placed St Clears crashed to a 104-0 loss. The huge victory couldn’t push Gowerton into the top five, however, with leaders Llanybydder (45-5 winners at Llangwm) and Burry Port (33-3 victors at home to Furnace) both producing comfortable wins.

DFP – Leaderboard

Division Three South West table-toppers Cwmavon produced one of the performances of the day on Saturday – demolishing Kenfig Hill 57-0 in a nine-try romp. Andrew Cottey, Neil Gadd and Justin Knight all bagged try doubles as Cwmavon retained their two-point lead at the top, but they can’t shake off Nantyffyllon (25-16 winners at Aberavon Quins) and Tonna (34-15 victors at Skewen).

Division Four West title contenders Ammanford demolished bottom-placed Llandybie 65-0, but Pontarddulais remain on top after a tough 23-13 victory at home to Cardigan.

Division Four South West is proving to be one of the tightest leagues in Wales, and the postponement of the first-versus-third match between Morriston and Birchgrove has only added to the congestion at the top. Heol y Cyw go top after their 44-22 win at Maesteg Celtic, while Glynneath move into third place with a 19-10 win at Abercrave.

Good things come to those who wait, and so it was for Pyle fans on Saturday. The Division Five South West club travelled to Baglan looking for their first win of the season and duly returned with a 27-0 result. BP Llandarcy remain top after a 24-12 win at Cwmgwrach, and their cause was helped when second-placed Cefn Cribbwr were well-beaten at Glyncorrwg.
