George Gregan, 32, will earn his 118th cap in a side that show just one change to the side that beat Ireland last week to put an end to their seven match losing streak. Coach Eddie Jones has picked Prop Matt Dunning ahead ofg Greg Holmes to face Wales in Cardiff on Saturday.

Loose-head Dunning missed last week’s 30-14 win over Ireland after suffering a neck injury in defeat to England. Prop Al Baxter remains on the bench. There is one change on the replacements bench, with scrum-half Chris Whitaker taking over from Matt Henjak. Australia utility back Matt Giteau’s foot injury ruled him out of the game, but Mat Rogers, Mark Gerrard and Hugh McMeniman all recovered from leg knocks.

“Our scrum was better against Ireland,” said Jones. “We need to keep improving and relish the contest.

DFP – Leaderboard

“It’s a tough call on Greg but he’s a young player and this tour has been a great experience for him. He’s got his first Test cap and we feel he’s going to be a very good player in the future.

“At scrum-half, we feel Chris Whitaker’s form has him just in front of Matt Henjak at the moment. It’s not really Wales’ game to take us on up front – they’ve got where they are by playing an all-action game and we don’t expect that to change.

“They were a breath of fresh air in the last Six Nations, it’s a similar approach to the way we like to play the game.”

Jones had high praise for Wales’ Australian skills coach, Scott Johnson, who the Wallabies have previously tried to recruit to their coaching team. “Scott will be desperate to beat us. He’s one of the most talented coaches in world rugby and has done excellent work with Wales,” said Jones.
