The Wales Under-21 fly-half kicked 11 points to complement tries from Gareth Morris and Ben Davies and keep the pressure on Newport, who are three points clear with only four games left in the season.

Two tries to winger Viv Jenkins helped bottom-placed Llanelli cling to survival after a big 38-9 win over Ebbw Vale, but the famous Stradey Park side are still three points adrift at the bottom. They have five more games to save themselves from an embarrassing stint in Division One next season.

DFP – Leaderboard

Llanelli’s hopes were helped by Swansea’s 17-7 victory over struggling
Pontypool, while Newbridge are also in the mix at the bottom after their 11-29 loss to Carmarthen Quins, for whom Craig Evans kicked 19 points.

In the last Konica Minolta Cup quarter-final, Aberavon came back from 11-16 at halftime to score 27 unanswered points and knock Cross Keys out of the competition with a 38-21 win. Wizards fly-half Jamie Davies was the man of the moment, scoring 23 points, including two tries.
