Wales and Warriors lock, Brent Cockbain, is the most serious casualty after narrow defeat to the World Champions at Twickenham this weekend, but he is still in with a shout of taking part in the RBS Six Nations finale at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday (2.00pm). Cockbain sustained an ankle sprain against England and was forced off, his injury is being closely monitored.

Ospreys back row, Jonathan Thomas, was also withdrawn before the final whistle in London after picking up bruising to his shoulder and hip, he will resume training as soon as possible, but will be closely monitored and fitness tested mid-week.

Captain Colin Charvis returned to Cardiff immediately after the Twickenham match to treat a thigh injury, but he is expected to resume full training midweek.

Blues centre/fly half Iestyn Harris, who withdrew from the squad on the morning of the game with a recurrence of a previous knock to his knee, has rested over the weekend and is now set to resume running and training. He will also undergo a fitness test midweek to assess his availability for Saturday.

The only other new injury is to hooker, Huw Bennett, he has a condition known as ‘Turf Toe’, which can also be referred to as a stubbed toe and will be out of action for a month.

Slight knocks incurred by Scarlets centre, Mark Taylor, and Warriors scrum half, Gareth Cooper, which led to the pair being substituted against England, have not proved serious and both have recovered fully.
