Everyone under 16 years of age – or students who can prove they are in full time education – will get free entry into the game which has been billed the ‘clash of the coaches’.

Scarlets Chief Executive, Stuart Gallacher, said: “Youngsters are our future and there’s no better introduction to the Stradey experience than a cup tie, after all we have a tradition of cup success” We want as many youngsters as possible from our region to sample the special atmosphere so we are offering free admission to juniors and students for the Dragons match”.

Scarlets Director of Rugby, Gareth Jenkins, has described the encounter as “intriguing”.

“It’s still early days in the season and we are all changing and adjusting our style of play on a weekly basis – it will be a battle of wits,” he says adding: “Cup games are all about winning one-off games, getting to the finals and then winning in a high pressure situation, ” observes Gareth. “As a club we have that ability, we thrive on it and now we want to do in this cup what we have done in the Welsh Cup in the past. ”
