Began his playing career in Year 4 at Hinckley in Leicestershire where he played until U17s. He was picked up by Leicestershire to play county rugby and signed for Leicester Tigers where he played alongside Wales teammate Tommy Reffell.
The England-born Jones played three times for Wales U18 before playing twice in the 2018 U20 Six Nations championship against England and Scotland.
He played for Llandovery in the Principalit Premiership for the 218/19 season but suffered an ankle injury against Llanelli to miss the entire 2019 U20 Six Nations championship through injury
