The talented footballer has represented Wales at rugby league at Under 17 level and also captained Wales U18 in the 2022 Six Nations squad.
The Dragons academy product plays in the Indigo Prem for Newport having previously played for Cross Keys and Newport, and has experience playing rugby league with Aber Valley Wolves.
This season, Ackerman made his United Rugby Championship debut for the Dragons and earned a taste of European rugby in the Challenge Cup.
