Cap No 1150
Jarrod Evans is the latest international outside-half off the production line at Sardis Road, following in the footsteps of Neil Jenkins, Lee Jarvis and Ceri Sweeney. He was a Grand Slam winner at Under 20 level in 2016 and was part of the senior Six Nations squad that achieved a clean-sweep in 2019.
He graduated through the junior ranks at Pontyclun RFC, won Welsh caps at U18 level, and made his senior Pontypridd debut at the age of 17 in 2013. By the time he had reached the Wales U20 team he had made his regional debut for the Blues after graduating from their Academy.
He won 12 caps for Wales U20, playing at two Junior World Championships in Italy and England. He made the step up to the senior Wales side when he came on as a replacement in the autumn win over Scotland on 3 November, 2018. He became the 1,150th player to represent Wales.
Having made his full regional debut for the Blues in 2015, he kicked 13 points to help his region seal a stunning European Challenge Cup title against Gloucester in Bilbao in 2018. He was named as the Blues’ ‘Discovery Player of the Year’ and ’Players’ Player of the Year’ as a result.
