Swansea born second row forward Adam Mathias Jones joined the Llanelli Scarlets in 2003, and was an integral part of the Scarlets team that won the Celtic League in the 2003–2004 season. After four seasons with the region, having made 109 appearances for the side, Jones departed for rival Welsh region the Newport Gwent Dragons in June 2007.

Jones has two caps for Wales, both gained in the 2006 RBS Six Nations Championship, against England and Scotland. He was called into the squad ahead of the opening game against England as cover for Jonathan Thomas, who had suffered a hamstring injury.

Jones’s former clubs include the Cardiff Blues, NEC Harlequins and the Saracens. He has represented Wales at U16, U18, U19 and U21 levels, and was a former U21 Captain.
