Nations Championship November 2026

Wales take on Japan, New Zealand and Australia in back-to-back weekends of rugby action this November at Principality Stadium as part of the new global international rugby competition – The Nations Championship.

Hemispheres will collide & champions will be crowned. 🏆

The new Nations Championship starts this summer, bringing together the best teams from across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres in one global competition.

The tournament will be played across the existing international windows – Summer Tour and the Autumn Internationals, before culminating with a Finals weekend in London.

🏉 12 nations2 groups and one defining rivalry.

🏉 6 matches per team, three in July and three in November.

Points Scoring System:

Every match counts. Teams earn points across all six games, contributing to a table that determines the final standings.

✅ Win = 4 points

🤝 Draw = 2 points

❌ Loss = 0 points

⭐ Bonus points are also rewarded for scoring 4 tries or losing by 7 points or fewer.

The Nation Championship starts in July when Northern Hemisphere teams travel south to play three matches against Southern Hemisphere opponents.

During this first window, Steve Tandy’s squad face Fiji, Argentina and South Africa on consecutive ‘away’ weekends this summer.

The competition continues in November, when Southern Hemisphere teams travel north for the remaining three matches.

For Wales, it means the Autumn internationals become part of a worldwide championship where every match matters, every point matters, and every moment matters.

At the end of the tournament, there will be a finals Weekend with 3 double headers.

Rivals collide one last time to decide the winning hemisphere and Nations Championship Winner🏆

Teams will face the opponent ranked in the same position from the opposite hemisphere.
