Girls in Rugby Week | Wythnos Merched yn Rygbi

Monday 12th – Sunday 18th October 2026

Girls in Rugby Week aims to get more girls involved in rugby, increase visibility of the women’s and girls’ game, support teachers, young leaders and coaches, and help new players find their local club or hub.

Ready to get involved? Find out more below.

Girls in Rugby Week is all about creating more opportunities for girls to get involved in rugby, helping them find their place in the game and supporting them to keep playing.

From schools and community clubs to coaches, volunteers and match officials, there are lots of ways we can all help grow the girls’ game in Wales.

#HERstory | #EiHanesHi

Every rugby community has women and girls who make a difference.

This Girls in Rugby Week, we want to celebrate them.

Tell us about a fantastic woman or girl in your school, hub or community club, whether they’re a player, coach, volunteer, member of staff or someone else helping to make rugby a welcoming place for girls.

Share their story and help us celebrate the people helping to shape the future of the game.

Try Rugby | Rho Gais ar Rygbi!

Monday 19th October – Sunday 1st November

We’re asking clubs across Wales to host Try Rugby recruitment taster sessions, giving girls the opportunity to try rugby in a fun, welcoming environment and connect with their local rugby community.

It’s a chance to introduce girls to the game and help create a pathway from trying rugby for the first time to becoming part of a club or hub.
