Saints, who last won the title in 2000 and who were finalists in Cardiff in 2011, went to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and beat four-time champions Leinster in their own backyard, 37-34. England wing Tommy Freeman was the star of the game, scoring a hat-trick of tries. A day later, the Six Nations player of the year, Louis Bielle-Biarrey, raced in for two tries as the home side upset the holders Toulouse 35-18 at Matmut Atlantique Stadium to reach their first Champions Cup final.
