Last month, men’s head coach Steve Tandy named a 48-player extended squad for Wales’ 2026 summer fixtures.
Wales face the Barbarians in an uncapped away fixture at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham which forms a double header with the Women’s team on 27 June before the inaugural Nations Championship commences the following weekend.
Six uncapped players were selected among the 27 forwards and 21 backs named by Tandy on 11 May. They are Cardiff Rugby loosehead prop Rhys Barratt, Exeter Chiefs back row Kane James, Dragons back row duo Harrison Keddie and Ryan Woodman, Ospreys tighthead prop Ben Warren plus Harlequins centre Bryn Bradley.
Below we take a look at each player.
Rhys Barratt
– A product of Cardiff’s development pathway, Rhys Barratt came through the ranks at Llantwit Fardre.
– The former Wales U20 front-rower was voted breakthrough player of the season last May for Cardiff.
Bryn Bradley
– Bryn Bradley made his Premiership debut for Harlequins this season.
– A dual international, he played rugby league for Wales U18 and followed his older brother Gwilym into the Wales U20 rugby union setup.
Kane James
– Exeter Chiefs back-rower Kane James began his rugby journey with St Peter’s RFC in Cardiff.
– The former Wales U18 international made his Premiership debut for the Chiefs in March 2025.
Harrison Keddie
– A familiar face to Dragons’ supporters, Harrison Keddie has played more than 100 games for the club.
– Ten years ago he was part of the Wales U20s Six Nations Grand Slam-winning side.
Ryan Woodman
– Dragons academy graduate Ryan Woodman is a former Wales U20 captain.
– Able to play in the back and second rows, Woodman trained with Steve Tandy’s Wales squad during this year’s Six Nations.
Ben Warren
– Former Wales U20 tighthead prop Ben Warren was a member of the Cardiff academy before switching to Ospreys in 2022.
– He started life as a No. 8 with Ystrad Rhondda before moving to the front row.
