Rodney Parade once again takes centre stage as the venue for 16 more finals from age U11 up to senior women as the WRU’s end of season ‘Go Compare Road to Principality 2026’ series continues.
Clubs and schools up and down the country are battling it out for titles and promotions as the season comes to close and if the four days in Newport are as good as the recent weekends in the Welsh capital then there will be thrills and spills all the way.
“We saw last weekend at Principality Stadium in the senior women’s and men’s club cup finals just how much the game means to each community. We were bowled over by the number of fans who turned up to cheer on every team,” said WRU community rugby director Geraint John.
“The very essence of Welsh rugby was on display in every game and the support from the sidelines matched the passion and determination on the pitch. The sheer joy of each occasion shone a light of everything that is good about our national game.
“The singing from the stands was fantastic, the quality of rugby on display was of a very high standard and the celebrations from every team at the end of each match, whether a team had won or lost, was very special to witness.
“It just showed how much it means to every community, from Bala to Cardiff, Machynlleth to Blaina or Seven Sisters to Tumble, to play at the home of Welsh rugby. Every fixture was a celebration for each club that won their way through to the finals – and a carnival for each town they represented.
“It will be the same in Newport for the second phase of fixtures. It is another professional venue, and one of the earliest to stage international rugby for Wales, and takes over while Principality Stadium is converted for it summer music events.”
The week kicks-off with four U18 Boy’s finals and there are five on Tuesday, three on Wednesday and four on Saturday.
