Fourteen rounds of Super Rygbi Cymru have now been completed with Ebbw Vale firmly in control at the top of the points table with a healthy 20 point buffer of nearest challengers, Llandvoery.

There are still five postponed games which need to be played to bring all the teams up to 14 games apiece. Bridgend take on Pontypool this Saturday but as they are both at the foot of the table, the result will have little bearing on the pacesetters.

The usual suspects are still leading the way at the top of the points scoring and try scoring charts with RGC’s Billy McBryde (154) and Ebbw Vale’s Ieuan Morris (14) still in charge at the top of their respective categories.

Elsewhere most of the clubs are represented in the various categories which ilustrates just how evenly contested SRC is proving this season.

For instance, Aberavon may be sitting in eighth position, but that hasn’t stopped some of their players producing some eye popping performances.

Former Wales U20 full back Scott Delnevo has been a consistent performer over the past couple of seasons and has recently made his 50th appearance for the club. He has beaten more defenders (48) than any other player in the league, although RGC’s Dion Jones is hot on his heals with 46 in second place while Cardiff full back Matty Young has beaten 44 defenders to be in third place on the podium.

Delenvo’s clubmate Ashton Evans has been a powerhouse for Jason Hyatt’s side this season in the engine room. The Wizards centurion has made an impressive 173 carries into traffic, with a 57% dominant collision rate, far superior to any other player.

RGC’s Dafydd Thirsk is next cab of the rank with 132 carries although his success rate is 41%, the same as Carmarthen Quins Lewys Millin who has made 122 carries.
