Josh Navidi believes his thriving back-row partnership with Justin Tipuric and Taulupe Faletau can get even better.

The Cardiff Blues blindside has been outstanding for Wales during the Six Nations having recently returned from a lengthy spell on the side lines with concussion.

But he is back to his best and has dovetailed exceptionally well with Tipuric and Faletau.

Navidi was man of the match in Wales’ 48-7 win over Italy.

“I really enjoy it,” said the 30-year-old when asked about playing with Tipuric and Faletau.

“I’ve said in the past that playing with Taulupe and Justin is great. The workload is shared across the back-row and they’re world-class players.

“Every time I get to play with them I embrace it. We feed off each other and that’s great. Every week you are looking to improve your own game and keep moving forward.

“I just want to keep progressing my game and hopefully keep it going. Obviously there are bits for me to work on. I’m never happy, but it’s all about the team performance at the end of the day.

“We spoke about going out to Italy and getting the job done. We delivered, but there are a few things we need to work on and we’ll look to put those right this week.”

Wales face a formidable France side in Paris this Saturday with a Six Nations Grand Slam on the line.

Navidi has been involved in some titanic test matches against Les Bleus over the last few years, with the opening win of the 2019 Six Nations, and Wales’ dramatic World Cup 2019 quarter-final victory, standing out.

And HE is expecting another gigantic battle against a sizeable France pack on Saturday night.

“It was a strange one,” said Navidi when asked to recall Wales’ sensational come-from-behind victory in Paris two years ago.

“We knew we weren’t out of the game even though we didn’t play well. The conditions weren’t great.

“Coming in at half time we knew if we could put things right then the gZme was there to still be played for. Hopefully it will be a dry track this time, but you never know with the weather these days.

“We’re looking forward to it. We know it’s going to be a big challenge, but hopefully we can get the win.

“We all know France are big strong men with a big and physical pack and a good driving line-out. That’s been shown by this Championship and the way they’ve been playing.

“They’ve got a bit about them attacking wise as well. They’ve got an all-round game and it’s exciting to go out there on Saturday with it all to play for.”
