Rhys Patchell (left) and Jonathan Davies face lengthy periods on the sidelines after surgery

Scarlets duo Rhys Patchell and Jonathan Davies face lengthy spells on the side-lines after picking up injuries during Wales’ campaign at the Rugby World Cup.

Fly half Patchell requires surgery to a shoulder injury while centre Davies is expected to be out of action for more than six months after sustaining his injury against Fiji in the pool stages of the World Cup.

Patchell suffered his shoulder knock against New Zealand in the Bronze final and with an expected recovery time estimated to be between 12 and 16 weeks, he faces a race against time to be ready for the Six Nations.
