The two sides meet at Principality Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the only unbeaten outfits in this year’s Guinness Six Nations.

Both remain on course for Grand Slam glory, but someone’s hopes of a championship clean sweep will end in Cardiff.

“I don’t think any match between Wales and England is not built-up or doesn’t feel tense,” said Wales wing North.

“If you look at how we are in the standings, with both two from two, it’s always going to be tense when you go into the middle game both unbeaten.

“The boys know what’s up for grabs. It doesn’t need much bigging up this week, does it? England have been in great form. Both sides of the ball and tactically they have been exceptional.

“They are two from two and if you look at their wins, there’s probably a bit more rugby in there than our two. They are certainly in a great position.

“They have great line-speed, are defensively very strong, and in attack they have got good variation with their aerial battle, kicking game, and strike plays. They are certainly in a good place.”

North is still only 26, but his two tries in Wales’ victory over France in Paris took him to 36 scores for his country at Test level.

In terms of try-scoring feats he is chasing Gareth Thomas and Shane Williams at the head of the Welsh list while he is also closing in on Williams’ Six Nations mark of 22. He has 19 in the tournament to date.

Wales will be hoping North can grab another try to help down England and the man himself cant’ wait to run out in front of a sell-out crowd.

“As much as these games are built-up, they are the ones you want to be involved in. The Six Nations is one of the best championships in the world,” the Ospreys giant added.

“To be able to put on a Welsh jersey in any game is massive, but to do it in the Six Nations is huge. That sort of thing keeps me going and keeps inspiring me to keep going.

“There is more for me to give. As the game develops, I will need to change. If you look at the first few rounds and see the physicality and the speed of the game that’s where, come World Cup time, the game is going to develop again.

“Hopefully I can keep up with it and I think there is certainly more to give to get there. Hopefully I haven’t peaked.

“I think there is plenty more left to go and bits I can work on in my game to take it to the next level.

“For me and a lot of the boys it is a big block now with the Six Nations then leading into the World Cup. Certainly there is more to give from now until then.”
