Robin McBryde has warned Argentina there is more to come from Wales ahead of Saturday’s second test.

Wales drew first blood with a 23-10 victory over the Pumas in the first test in San Juan last weekend. The former Wales hooker is expecting an Argentinian backlash but is confident his side can get even better.

“There’s definitely a spring in the step following a good performance and we are now looking to finish off the job,” said McBryde.
“It was a big step forward in the development of some of our younger players.

“It was a stern test but there’s going to be an even bigger test on Saturday so we’ve got to back it up. We know it was a good win but we also realise we weren’t at our best.

“We expect Argentina to improve but there’s a lot of small little things we can improve on as well. There’s small little things we can improve.

“What was so pleasing was the overall chat and communication in getting those small little things that matter working.”
Warren Gatland has blooded a number of less experienced players to international rugby on this tour.

And McBryde has been hugely impressed with the performances of young front rowers Elliott Dee and Dillon Lewis. Cardiff Blues prop Lewis was outstanding against Argentina providing a solid platform with his scrummaging.

“I thought Dillon’s contribution, not only at the set-piece but away from the set-piece was outstanding,” said McBryde.
“He was carrying ball, he was putting pressure over the ball defensively and he was brilliant.

“The scrum obviously comes first when you are a tighthead and I thought his profile was outstanding. Everybody is aware how Creevy is a big talisman for them and it was a big challenge for both Elliott Dee and Ryan Elias.

“Rob Evans is a bit of an old head in the front five because when you look at it Cory Hill is an old head on young shoulders. I thought Adam Beard was also outstanding and he put in an 80 minute performance.”
