The capital city will play host to two highly-anticipated contests, first against World Cup holders England on Saturday 11th February, followed by World Cup semi-finalists Ireland on Saturday 11th March. Both games will kick off at 11:30.
Under a new coaching structure, spearheaded by head coach Rowland Phillips, the Wales Women made the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park their new home in some style over the autumn, putting in dominant performances against Scotland Women (15-0) and the UK Armed Forces (43-5).
After strong turnouts at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park, WRU National Women’s Manager Caroline Spanton has high hopes for the Six Nations: “We’re tremendously excited to be hosting two of the premier teams in Europe at our new home ground. We want to make sure there’s a big crowd behind us in Cardiff because, as we saw in the autumn, that spurs on the team.”
Spanton added that, with the England fixture kicking off just under five hours before their male counterparts next door at Principality Stadium, and Ireland the day after the corresponding men’s fixture in Cardiff, the scene is set for a great atmosphere: “The way the games have been scheduled this year, we’re hoping we’ll get more people through the gates for two big weekends of international rugby, which will help to continue the momentum the women have built with their great performances over the last month.”
Ticket for both games are priced at £15 seated, and £10 terraced (£5 for children under 16) and can be purchased online here, or in person from the WRU Ticket Office on Westgate Street.
