Having joined in 2015 from Llanharan after a spell at his home town club Cardiff, Baird has gone on to make 30 appearances to date for Bridgend Ravens, becoming a main stay of last season’s squad with 27 appearances.

Baird, who is a Filton College product, ended last season as first choice thanks to a number of impressive performances as Bridgend rounded off the season with wins over Cardiff and Carmarthen Quins, with Baird scoring a crucial try in the win against his former club at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park in April.

On signing his new deal, Baird was in confident mood.

‘I’m really looking forward to building on last year with a new exciting coaching structure and group of players. It’s been great being back in training with the boys. The training has been hard, but a lot of fun to so I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the pitch.’
