Reigning champions Scarlets Ladies, will be looking to take another step towards a successful defence of their title when they take on the Ospreys. (1pm)

The West Wales women have enjoyed themselves at Cardiff’s grounds, running riot against the home team, 7-47 last month having ground out a gruelling 13-0 victor over the Dragons the previous week.

With a small contingent of the squad returning from their Wales 7s excursion to Dubai, the squad will be in good spirits and full of confidence heading into the festive derby.

The Ospreys too will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run and get to the top of the table themselves having sat behind the Scarlets due to points’ difference for the past two rounds.

Following the Scarlets v Ospreys encounter, the Blues will be taking on the Newport Gwent Dragons at 3pm in a regional double header.

Dragons Women and Girls Development Officer Gwesyn Price-Jones says he is satisfied with the progress his side have made during the campaign.

“The squad is really looking forward to this weekend,” he said. “We’ve become a very close group. They’ve all bonded over these last few months. Our performances have been good. A few errors have cost us. We’ve played some really attractive rugby but this weekend we’re looking to up the performance again and come away with a win.”
