Wales will face World Rugby’s top ranked sides in 2016

Wales will face the full set of World Rugby’s top ranked sides in 2016, it has been confirmed.

Wales, currently ranked 4th in World, will continue their mantra to test themselves against the best as they line up against all eight of their highest ranked opponents over the course of fourteen fixtures next year, including facing New Zealand three times and England twice.
 
Following the RBS 6 Nations, where Wales will take on four of their top nine ranked opposition, Warren Gatland’s side will then face England (ranked 8th) again at Twickenham on 29th May as they prepare for their three-Test summer tour to New Zealand to take on the top ranked World Champions. 
 
Australia (2nd), Argentina (5th) and South Africa (3rd) will then visit Principality Stadium as part of Wales’ autumn campaign to round off a full set of fixtures against each of their fellow top nine ranked sides.
 
Wales kick off 2016 by facing reigning RBS 6 Nations Champions Ireland (6th) in Dublin on Sunday February 7th.  The following weekend will see the newly-named Principality Stadium host its first event as Wales take on Scotland (9th) in a sold-out fixture on Saturday February 13th.
 
France (7th) are then welcomed to Cardiff on Friday 26th February before Wales travel to face England on Saturday 13th March.  Wales’ Six Nations commitments conclude against Italy (12th) at Principality Stadium on Saturday 19th March.

Wales travel to Twickenham for the capped match against England on Sunday 29th May before they depart for New Zealand.
 
Gatland’s side will kick off their tour against the World Champions in Auckland on Saturday 11thJune.  They will travel to the head coach’s hometown of Hamilton for a midweek fixture against The Chiefs on Tuesday 14th June before their second test against the All Blacks in Wellington. 
 
The final clash of the series will take place on Saturday 23rd June at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.
 
Wales will welcome four teams to Principality Stadium next autumn.  They will face Australia, Argentina and South Arica as part of a four match series over consecutive Saturday’s with the fourth fixture to be confirmed.
