Scorch & Into Film winning video

Children from Lansdowne Primary school’s Year 6 created a unique animation when they visited the Millennium Stadium last week as part of their prize for winning this year’s Welsh Rugby Union and Into Film ‘Scorch’ competition.

Scorch is the official dragon mascot to the Millennium Stadium and the WRU and he exists primarily in a digital world, with his own website and twitter feed and appearing on matchdays in Cardiff via the Stadium’s big screens whenever there is a break in play or to cheer Wales on at opportune moments.

And Scorch was the inspiration for this piece of animation which responds to the competition theme ‘What Scorch did next’, encouraging entrants to write the next chapter in the mascot’s story, following on from the storyline in his own graphic novel trilogy (available from the iBooks store). For the Lansdowne Primary school children this was an invitation to introduce and evil black dragon into the proceedings.
