The Ospreys have already sealed a Champions Cup place and a spot in the Guinness PRO12 playoffs, but their hunger is far from satisfied.

A Judgement Day triumph over the Cardiff Blues guaranteed them a shot at the PRO12 trophy, with only the final league positions to be decided. And an Ospreys’ win over Glasgow Warriors this weekend could move them above the Scottish side at the top of the table and strengthen their bid for a home semi-final.

And  Assistant Coach Gruff Rees is not stopping there, he is determined to kick-on and win silverware at the Kingspan Stadium this month.

He said: “We know with the characters we’ve got, we won’t settle for this now and say ‘good season’, with Champions Cup qualification ticked off and play-off place ticked off. We want to win the thing. We have got a number of guys that have won leagues, but there is also a young freshness about us, so I do want to see these players come into the mix and challenging for silverware.”

Steve Tandy’s side came from behind in-front of 52,000 fans at the Millennium to beat Cardiff Blues 31-23. And Rees is hoping the fans that roared them on in Cardiff will make an appearance at Swansea on Friday night.

He said: “I thought it was a fantastic exercise of people pulling together. It worked really well in terms of an attractive product and I’d like to think we played our part there.

“We are trying to play some good ball-in-hand rugby. Our diehard fans have seen that over the last 18 months, but if you are a casual supporter, please come in and hopefully get a good night’s entertainment.

“There’s a good atmosphere in the Liberty when the numbers are up. Hopefully people will come and support some winning rugby because they can make a massive difference.

“If we play like we can, we will give ourselves a big opportunity to win, but we’ve got to make home advantage count and hopefully a big crowd can come out and support us in that because it could be those little one or two per-centers that do make a difference.”
