Allen, 25, is the latest back-row recruit to arrive at Parc Y Scarlets after the region confirmed the signing of up-and-coming Cross Keys No. 8 Jack Condy only last week. The destructive ball-carrier has made 53 regional appearances for the Ospreys since making his bow against Cardiff Blues in 2011.
Allen is the region’s seventh new signing for next season, as they look ahead to another season in the European Rugby Champions Cup.
Head Coach Wayne Pivac said: “We are pleased to confirm that Morgan will be joining us next season. He is a strong ball carrier and will add another dimension to our back-row giving us another option at 8. At only 25 years of age Morgan has plenty of rugby left in the tank and will no doubt learn and continue his development under the leadership and guidance of experienced guys in our squad like John Barclay.”
The Scarlets can secure their place in next season’s Champions Cup with a pair of wins to finish the season. First up is a home test against regional rivals Cardiff Blues before a trip to Italy to play Benetton Treviso.
Allen said: “The Scarlets are always there or thereabouts in the top half of the table in the Pro12 and it will be great if I can help them push on. I’m looking forward to going there, meeting the boys and hopefully having more chances of regular rugby.”
