The Scarlets have a trio of Welsh starlets in the side with Samson Lee, Gareth Davies and Liam Williams all selected.

Davies, 23, is picked at scrum-half after he finished top of the PRO12 try-scoring stakes, racking up 10 touchdowns in an impressive breakthrough season.

Williams gets the nod at full-back after fine performances in the red jerseys of Wales and the Scarlets. The 23-year-old comes in with team-mate Lee who was voted best tight-head after anchoring the Scarlets scrum, as well as picking up his first Wales caps back in November.

Three Ospreys also line up in the side after they narrowly missed out on a play-off place. Captain and Wales linchpin Alun Wyn Jones is picked alongside World Cup winner Johann Muller at lock after leading his side to a fifth placed finish.

Dan Biggar, 24, is the man chosen at stand off having topped the points scoring charts for the third time in four seasons. The Wales No10 is the only player to have broken the 200-point barrier and is in the back line with Canadian wing and team-mate Jeff Hassler, who has been rewarded for a fine debut season in which he has scored seven tries.

There is also space for one Cardiff Blues player as Munster-bound Robin Copeland gets the nod for his powerful performances in the league. The 26-year-old has scored four tries in his 20 PRO12 outings and earned a spot in Ireland’s 34 man Six Nations squad back in February.

Welsh regions lead the way alongside the Irish provinces in terms of representation, with seven representatives also plying their trade at semi-finalists Leinster, Munster or Ulster.

League leaders and defending champions Leinster have three in the side: Sean Cronin at hooker, with Rhys Ruddock and Jordi Murphy lining-up in the back-row.

Third placed Munster have ex-Blues centre Casey Laulala in the team as well as Ireland prop David Kilcoyne, who has bagged two tries from the front row.

Ulster captain Muller leads the side from the second row and has team-mate Andrew Trimble on the right wing after his resurgent season.

Centre Alex Dunbar is the sole Scottish star in the side after Glasgow earned a spot in the PRO12 play-offs.
