Haverfordwest came away from their journey north knowing a try by Natalie Bowen was enough to secure a 5-3 victory against Pool C newcomers Abergele.

Their win places them securely at the top of their pool.

Pen-y-Banc secured a bonus point with a 20-5 win over a well drilled Lampeter. Tries from Catrin Rees, Fabiana O’Callahn and a brace from Brittony Price sealed the deal with Lampeter’s solitary entry on the score board coming from Claire Davies’ try.

Nantyfyllon’s first match in the cup ended in deadlock against Abergavenny. Kelsey Boast gave Nanty an early lead but it was Abergavenny’s centre Alex Clarke that levelled the score at 5-5.
Tries by Lee Hatherall, Charlotte Kembrey and Kate Gladwin helped Croesyceliog to gain their first victory in the Cup over Gorseinon. Although Croesy dominated for large periods of the game it was the Swansea side that had the last laugh as Sue Walters’ try allowed Jadey Morgan to convert and end the game 15-7.

Kidwelly had to overcome the dominant pack of Barry to gain their victory and leap to poll position in Pool B.

Barry were awarded a penalty try, converted by Sarah Richards who also slotted over a penalty in the first half. But it was Kidwelly’s backs that ran the show with Karen Mayze, Jodie Evans and Vicky Buxton each scoring a brace of tries and the boot of Evans adding a conversion to leave the final score 32-10.

Whitland travelled east to gain a decisive 33-0 win over Blaenau Gwent. Tries from Emma Summons, Angharad Williams, a pair from Heather Rees and a try and four conversions from second row Rebecca Norris claimed the victory for the west Wales club. Although well beaten, it was noted by all in attendance that the home side never gave up and fought on till the final whistle.

Llandaff North secured a six try to one victory over Neath Athletic. Laurie Harries, Becky Newton (2), Mared Evans and Beth Kenure added to an early penalty try with Evans adding four conversions and Harries a long range penalty.  Neath scored a late consolation try through Charlie Murray after a scintillating break from Eli Norkett.

Rafiuke Taylor flew in for four tries for Pontyclun Falcons’ away journey to Caernarfon. The steady boot of outside half Brogan Jones added four conversions and a penalty to seal their 31-15 win. The north Walians answered back with tries from Emma Edwards, Cartin Roberts and Caryl Hughes, but it wasn’t enough to knock Pool A’s high flyers of the top spot.
