Several clubs who are looking to access grants relating to pitch development have taken the opportunity to offer Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) training to their volunteer grounds men. This practical course gives an insight into essential annual pitch maintenance aimed at maximising the playing surface.

Due to the number of volunteers looking to access this training, the WRU will be arranging a bespoke course to be delivered in South Wales.

Emergency Aid training has featured again in this round with clubs accessing the Rugby Emergency Aid course with St John’s Wales. These clubs will be taking advantage of the opportunity to hold the 3 hour course in their club houses.

Three clubs were successful in applying for funding for Join The Beat Recruitment events at their clubs, taking advantage of their ability to hold Join the Beat events at any time during the season.

The third round of Recruitment funding is now open. Clubs are encouraged to contact the Club Operations team on clubops@wru.co.uk to discuss projects prior to submission with the closing date being February 28, 2013.
