After both claiming wins on the opening weekend, the Blues and Ospreys went into their clash level on points at the top of the table while the Scarlets took on the Dragons.
And in what were two close games, the Scarlets sneaked a 15-12 win while the Blues and Ospreys had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 5-5 draw.
The Scarlets ran in two tries as did the Dragons in what was an entertaining first game of the day. Second row Kath Gravell got her side moving with a 13th minute score before Dragons centre Kay Edwards levelled things up.Â
Scarlets fly-half Mared Evans then kicked a penalty in the 37th minute to put her side 8-5 up at the break before centre Elen Evans crossed for a try after half time.
At 15-5 up the Scarlets looked like they would run out easy winners but the Dragons refused to give up. They rallied impressively and wing Sophie Lane went over for a try late on, converted by replacement Yasmin Leung.
Sadly for them though, the score came with just a few minutes left on the clock and by that stage it was too little too late.
In the second game which kicked off straight after, a low scoring game ended all square between the Blues and the Ospreys.
No. 8 Gemma Hallet gave the Blues the lead before flanker Amie Stephens levelled things up for the Ospreys. And although both sides pushed for the win, the game remained level up until the final whistle.
