Wales’ 2009 World Cup Sevens winning captain Lee Beach, who joined Welsh from Neath in 2009, is one of a host of players to pen new deals. The back-row forward is loving life with the Exiles and looks forward to another season in the English Championship.

“These signings are good because it is London Welsh and the people behind the scenes are keen to keep it that way,” said Beach.

“I’ve enjoyed my last two years here, so I was more than happy to re-sign. I left Wales to play here and it’s a different level than at home.

“The semi-pro league in Wales is good, but the Championship is very, very competitive. Most of the teams are full-time professional and that’s great.”

Also to re-sign are scrum half Rob Lewis, centres James Lewis and Paul Mackey, hooker Dan George and second row Mike Powell.

The quintet will be joined under contract at the famous club by captain Jonathan Mills, who along with Paul Mackey embarks on his fifth full season with the Exiles, hooker Saul Nelson and new head coach Lyn Jones.
