Wales internationals ticket update

Welsh rugby ticket sales for the Invesco Perpetual Series this Autumn are proving as popular as ever with two matches – New Zealand and Australia – sold-out and over 80,000 tickets gone for the remaining two fixtures against Samoa and Argentina, currently selling at a rate of 2,000 a week.

Selected hospitality packages remain the only way to watch Warren Gatland’s Wales take on the All Blacks or the Wallabies although the top priced ‘platinum package’ for New Zealand and the special offer ‘Bar 10 package’ for Australia are also sold out.

The Friday 13TH November Samoa fixture, now at 30,000 seats sold, has surpassed sales for the equivalent match in the 2008 series against Canada at this same point – with that game eventually reaching the 58,000 mark.

The visit of the Pumas, who currently lie sixth – two places above Wales – in the IRB world rankings, on 21st November is also sparking significant interest from the Welsh public having surpassed 50,000 in sales and counting, five weeks out from the fixture.

“Once Warren Gatland announces his squad for the series and the opening match against the All Blacks draws closer we will experience an even greater upsurge in demand for tickets,” said WRU group head of communications John Williams.

“Sales are currently at a rate of over 2,000 a week which is a pretty healthy state for us to be in at this stage.

“We already know that when the All Blacks and the Wallabies are in town there won’t be a spare seat in the house and once rugby fans get their first taste of action that Friday night, competitively priced, fixture against the exciting Samoans and the following titanic clash with Argentina will become even more attractive.”

Remaining tickets for the Samoa and Argentina matches in the Series are available from www.wru.co.uk, Ticketmaster: 08442 777888 and Ticketline: 02920 230130.
