Daffyd Jones and Matt Taylor claimed a try each keep Tredegar at the summit of SWALEC League Division Two East table with an 18-3 win away at Llantrisant.

The win puts Tredegar three points clear of Brynmawr going into the international break, and ends Llantrisant’s unbeaten start to the season. 

Brynmawr failed to pick up a bonus point to close the gap in a 24-18 away win against strugglers Mountain Ash at Parc Duffryn Pennar.

Treherbert’s game with Abercynon was abandoned in the last minute, with Treherbert set to take a penalty kick to level the game. The home side were 16-13 down when Rhys Dain was knocked unconscious and the referee was forced to abandon the game as the sides waited for an ambulance.

Garndiffaith are the new leaders of Division Three East after a thrilling 38-28 win away at Pill Harriers saw them pick up a bonus point and go top on tries scored. 

Nelson, who began the day on top of the table, came out 25-3 winners in their top against bottom clash with Cwmbran. Dan Lloyd, Kevin Morgan and Chris Bax were the try scorers for The Unicorns.

Nantyglo beat third-placed Machen 24-17 to extend their stay at the top of Division Four East . Llandaff are hot on their heels after picking up eight tries a bonus point in their 42-0 win over bottom side Pontllanfraith. Rhiwbina were the other big scorers in Division Four after running in six tries in a thrilling 41-23 win over Chepstow.

Abercarn made it seven wins out of seven as they beat Caldicot 35-10 to open up a massive 14 point gap at the top of the table going into the international break. Strugglers Trinant stunned third-placed Oakdale with a shock 39-0 win. Meanwhile at the foot of the table a last minute Mark Shellow drop-goal gave Bettws their first points of the season with a 13-13 draw against fellow strugglers RTB.

Blackwood Stars left it late to hold on to their unbeaten record in Division Six, after two tries in the last five minutes gave them a smash and grab 29-24 win away at St Julians HSOB. Craig Bennett got a hat-trick as second-placed Beaufort ran in eight tries in their 46-17 win at home to Markham.
