Principality Premiership preview

The Wizards are the only team to stay in pole position for more than a week this season and will be aiming to make it three in a row on Saturday.

Ebbw Vale won 15-11 against neighbouring Cross Keys last time out and will be looking to upset the Premiership’s early season leaders.

Cross Keys play host to travelling Pontypridd at Pandy Park with the teams only three points apart in the table.

Simon King’s Pontypridd currently occupy fourth spot while Cross Keys sit fourth from bottom.

King will be targeting a win on Saturday to put pressure on leaders Aberavon and Newport, whilst the Keys also have three points in their sights.

At Church Bank Llandovery take on Cardiff buoyed by last weekend’s 21-6 win over Llanelli.

The Drovers are three points clear of the Black and Blues in fifth spot and will hope to increase that advantage with a win on Saturday.

Cardiff however will be keen to make amends following last weekend’s narrow 20-18 defeat at the hands of regional rivals Pontypridd.

At Stradey Park Llanelli go head to head with an out of sorts Bridgend side who are still struggling to recapture last season’s form.

The Ravens sit in tenth spot after just two wins from five this term and are unrecognisable from the force that took second place last year.

Llanelli have also had a slow start to the season with just three points from a possible 15.

Last weekend’s win over Glamorgan Wanderers last time out may just give Bridgend the edge over a Llanelli side defeated 21-6 by Llandovery.

Newport travel to St Helens to take on Swansea hoping for three points and an Aberavon loss at Ebbw Vale.

The Black and Ambers are joint top with the Wizards after four wins in five and will be hoping to keep the pressure on with a win on Saturday.

At the Memorial Ground eighth-placed Glamorgan Wanderers play host to second from bottom Bedwas.

The teams are level on six points in the league with both sides registering two wins so far this season.

At the Gnoll reigning champions Neath continue their bid for a third successive title as they host second-from-bottom Maesteg.
