On Friday, a clinical display from out-half Felipe Contepomi and a hat-trick of tries from Gary Brown inspired a 62-14 win for Leinster over Border Reivers that lifted the Irish province temporarily, to the top of the table. The victory saw the most aggregate points scored in a Celtic League game so far this season, whilst Leinster also equalled the all time record for most points in a home match, held by Connacht and Llanelli RFC.

Elsewhere Edinburgh Gunners maintained their push for glory with a narrow 9-13 triumph over the Blues at the Arms Park, Gunners’ Argentinian winger Francesco Leonelli scoring the only try of the game, whilst Ulster cemented their place in the top four rallying from a 10 point deficit to win 30-13 over Scarlets also on Friday night.
