COCKBAIN’S CHARITY CASH BOOST

Cockbain accepted the donation on behalf of the Toby Lloyd Cockbain Foundation dedicated to the memory of his baby boy who died of a brain tumour last September.

The money was raised from the sale of the Millenium Stadium pitch on which Wales secured a famous 11-9 win over England at the start of this year’s RBS Six Nations Championship.

Two of the most sought after pieces to be auctioned were the area where Shane Williams touched down for the only try of the game and the spot from which Gavin Henson kicked his memorable penalty to seal Wales’ first victory over England in Cardiff for 12 years.

A delighted Cockbain, who will fly out to the United States with the rest of the Wales squad later this week, said: “We’ve raised £90,000 now and that’s great.

“We are continuing to raise money by doing all sorts of events and i’m really humbled by the overall support we’ve had.”
