THREE TITLES SETTLED IN LLOYDS TSB LEAGUES

Division One
Maesteg took the title with a hard-earned 17-3 win at Carmarthen Athletic, but the losers now face a hard task to avoid relegation. Wing Gareth John, scrum half Richard Morgan and fly half Mark David scored the tries for the Old Parish and David goaled one, while Dan Jones placed an Athletic penalty.


Glamorgan Wanderers were promoted to Premier status after beating Blackwood 27-6 to finish in second place behind Maesteg. Tries came from Gareth Morris, Mark O’Leary, Mike Grimes and Andrew Crawley and Mark Heywood converted two and kicked a penalty against two Blackwood penalties by fly half Paul Emanueli.



Division Three
Two titles were won on Tuesday evening as unbeaten Rhydyfelin captured the South-East crown and Maesteg Quins won the South-West.



Rhydyfelin, skippered by No 8 Robert Agnew, beat Pontycymmer 47-12 and then learnt that Mountain  Ash had fallen by 20-6 at Brecon.



Maesteg Quins hammered Alltwen 61-10 to ensure Division Two rugby next season, while Brynoch leapt three places to third by holding off Vardre 24-18.
