Wales will be aiming for a fifth straight win at under 19 level as they finished last season with a fifth place in the Junior World Cup, winning their last three matches against Argentina, Scotland and Australia. Four of the the six changes in the starting line-up from the victory over the Scots are behind the scrum. Tom Cheeseman, Aaron Hopkins and Michael Davies replace Greg Evans, Lloyd Ryland and Chris Clayton in the threequarters with Martin Roberts taking over from Tom Dickins at scrum half.

Up front James Littlehales takes over from Ken Owens as hooker and Will Jones comes in at lock in place of Sam Wahdan. No 8 Adam Powell takes over the captaincy from prop Craig Mitchell. On the replacements bench, all seven played during the Scotland game, in which wing Darren Daniel and replacement centre Jonathan Spratt scored tries and fly half Gareth Williams-Davies landed a conversion.

England coach Tosh Askew has stated: “The Wales game is always a very physical test and a good indicator of how successful the season could be.”
