Central U16s v East U16s

After their recent win over North Wales, Central started the game full of confidence and opened the scoring with a superb individual try from Centre Levi Hallett (Beddau) which was converted by Sophie Wilkinson (Llandaff North). Team Captain Megan Snape (Builth Wells) led from the front to drive over the line for the second score of the day. Amy Thompson (Beddau) made full use of her experience to steal ball at the line out which enabled the back line to continue their attack. Winger Cassie Lyons (Llandaff North) used her tremendous strength and speed cross for two further tries with one being converted by Sophie Wilkinson. Half time score 29-0. East Wales came out for the second half full of determination with scrum half Carly Tutton (Cwmbran) breaking away for what seemed to be a certain score only to be pulled down inches short of the Central line. Some excellent positional kicking from fly half Kirsty Lewis (Llandaff North) kept pushing East Wales back into their own half. Sophie Wilkinson (Llandaff North) was next to cross the East goal line for another great individual try out pacing the East defence. With the game coming to an end the forwards provided quick ball, and good handling from all of the back line enabled Sophie to score again. A good all round team performance from both sides resulted in an entertaining afternoon’s rugby. The final score was 39-0 to Central.
