“There are plenty of quality players in this side John Thomas, Gareth Swales, Huw Bennett and Jonny Vaughton, all well established players to name but a few.

“Six players in the squad have received full time provincial contracts,” he added.

And Cardiff Coach Mike Rayer hopes his team will go one step further than last season when they lost the final to Neath by 15-18.

He said: ‘Injuries and first team calls have disrupted our season but we’ve had a good cup run and a great 28-0 win over Llanelli in the semi-final. We are able to call on several first team regulars like John Yapp and Robin Sowden-Taylor for the final and that is a huge boost for us. But Swansea are a quality outfit and like ourselves can include many youngsters with senior experience. It promises to be a great match.’
