The Welsh All-Blacks can go four points clear of challengers Bridgend if they beat the All Whites.

And with the Ravens playing tomorrow, and with a further three games in-hand over Neath, the leaders are well aware that they cannot afford to slip up.

“We know that as a Neath team we just did not turn up against Llanelli a few weeks ago, and we were well beaten as a result,” said assistant coach Roland Phillips.

“However, we have not written off this season like some teams may have, as the name of Neath RFC is on the line, and we have to take the opportunity to show what this means.

“We have set simple targets over the next few weeks, firstly to win individual games, and secondly to win the league.

“Individual players have places to play for in regional sides and as individuals they will get a chance to impress over the next few weeks, but we have prepared for this match as a team in the normal way.

“The match could almost be looked on as a regional trial, and although we are unsure how many of Swansea’s big-guns will play, it will be an opportunity for each player to perform one on one.”

Neath injury list has been reduced to just three. Nathan Bonner-Evans is out for the rest of the season after a hip operation, Lee Jarvis has an ongoing shoulder injury and Allan Bateman will be out of action until early May with broken ribs.

Meanwhile Swansea will be looking to build on their surprise 36-31 victory over Pontypridd on Saturday that lifted them to fifth in the table.

That victory, Swansea’s first in four games, came at a price however when promising young No 8 James Bater was stretchered off as a precaution with a neck injury.

He misses this game as does Gavin Henson who went over on his ankle against Pontypridd.
