Off the back of a famous win against England at Twickenham, Wales entertained Scotland in 1988 in what turned out to be a thriller which included some stunning tries.

Scotland were 17-10 in front at the break and increased the lead through a penalty by full back Gavin Hastings before Wales staged a remarkable comeback to stun the Scots.

Jonathan Davies got the show on the road, using all his footballing ability and speed to grubber kick behind the Scottish defence to beat the retreating defence to the ball over the try-line.

Ieuan Evans then mesmerised the Scottish defence with a stunning try. He initially stepped inside off his left foot past Hastings and simply kept stepping inside would-be tacklers

The Scots played their part, scoring two tries of their own via winger Matt Duncan and back rower Finlay Calder, plus four penalties from full back Gavin Hastings.

Ebbw Vale hooker Ian Watkins ploughed over to put Wales in to the ascendancey and asssissted with two drop goals by Davies and seven points from the boot of Paul Thorburn, Wales edged home 25-20.
