Ynysddu Rugby Cub in the Sirhowy Valley, Gwent are a great example of a community club who have harnessed the resources within their organisation to their full potential.

They initially used a WRU loan, which is now almost fully repaid, to begin renovating their humble clubhouse facilities and have recently benefitted from a £15 000 Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust grant in order to complete the work on a new and much needed shower and changing room area.

Above all, Ynysddu have harnessed the unbounded enthusiasm of their club members and volunteers who have given up their valuable time to work on the project, be it through providing skills, hard labour or fundraising.

WRU Head of Operations Tim Burton recently visited the club along with Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust chair Russell Goodway to inspect the works undertaken and present the club with their grant certificate. WRU TV went along to find out more.
