With four U16, U18 and U20 victories under their belt so far this term, the region consolidated their start with a 16-12 success over a combative Scarlets side.
And though the visitors, who led 7-6 at half time, took coach Alex Evans’s side to the wire, it was the Ospreys who came out on top thanks to fullback Tom Prydie.
Wing Brian Barlow bagged his side’s only try of the game, after the interval, but it was Prydie’s haul of three penalties and a conversion which won the day.
Team Manager Graham Court said, “In the end, Tom was the difference between the sides. His kicking was impeccable and he certainly deserved to finish up on the winning side. It was a cracking game and another great advert for the Reebok Regional Championships.”
Lock Gareth O’Reilly scored a try for the Scarlets in the first half but his try, converted by fullback James Russell, and a second half effort from flanker Marcus Dininno were not enough.
More than 500 attended the game with senior coaches Lyn Jones and Phil Davies and Ospreys’ director of rugby Kevin Hopkins, amongst the crowd.
