Two penalties from Ian Keatley and one from Morgan had seen the Irish side 6-3 ahead at the break.Â
JJ Hanrahan and Keatley added further second half penalties to secure the win but Morgan’s strike on the final whistle meant the Ospreys at least took something from the game.
Table toppers Munster started the better, dominating territory and from the first scrum of the day, Munster earned a penalty which Keatley converted.
Keatley’s kicking game continued to pin the Ospreys back and after missing a second penalty effort, his third bisected the posts after Joe Bearman was penalised at a ruck.
At 6-0 down, the Ospreys needed a quick response and Morgan gave them just that. Sam Lewis carried just short of the Munster line and when the home side were penalised, the young Ospreys 10 made no mistake.
Ivan Dineen thought he had extended Munster’s lead with the first try of the day but luckily for Steve Tandy’s men, the score was ruled out by the TMO.
The start of the second half saw the Ospreys see a score of their own ruled out. Captain Jonathon Spratt had stopped Munster from extending their lead and he thought his side had hit back when scrum half Tito Tebaldi dived over.
It was not to be though and with the rain coming down, Keatley got the first points of the second half with another penalty.
Hanrahan then pushed Munster further clear after Hanno Dirksen, returning from a long spell on the sidelines, was rightly penalised for a late tackle.
The Ospreys did have chances, Morgan dragged a penalty wide and saw a drop goal effort off target, but victory escaped them.
However, with their scrum on top and Wales Under 20 props Nicky Smith and Dan Suter making an impact from the bench, Morgan did nail a late kick to seal a losing bonus point.Â
