Scarlets coach Nigel Davies could only watch from the sidelines as his Scarlets side left Scotland in defeat last Friday.

Mark Jones was in top try-scoring form but couldn’t prevent the Scarlets leaving empty-handed after a 34-20 defeat to Glasgow.

Wales flyer Mark Jones scorched over twice and ten points from fly-half Stephen Jones wasn’t enough to halt the slide in Scotland.

The Scarlets have failed to win any of their last six visits north of the border and coach Nigel Davies admitted his players only had themselves to blame.

Davies said: “It was disappointing because we let a game get away from us that we felt we could have won. “Our basic skills let us down. When Glasgow put width on the ball, they exposed our defence.

“We have to take a good look at ourselves but I’m confident we can get it right over the next two weeks for Europe.”

Davies is hopeful skipper Simon Easterby and former All Black Kees Meeuws will return next weekend against Saracens in the EDF Energy Cup next weekend.
