Rhys Webb continued his sparkling start to the new campaign with a further two tries to take his tally to four after just three rounds of matches.
Dan Baker crossed before half-time before Dan Biggar’s try inspired the region to run riot in front of 6,340 home fans.
Wales scrum-half Webb got the Ospreys off to a flying-start after just two minutes. Full-back Dan Evans wriggled through one tackle on the half-way line before the 25-year-old picked the ball up from the base of the ruck and sniped through the Edinburgh defence.
WP Nel and James Hilterbrand both failed with last-ditch tap tackles and the in-form number nine had already crossed for his third try of the season before Tim Visser got his hands on him. Edinburgh landed a penalty before the Ospreys struck again through star-man Webb.
He dummied and dotted from close range after Fraser McKenzie smothered Evans just short of the whitewash – Dan Biggar added his second conversion of the afternoon. And things got worse for Edinburgh when the Ospreys decimated their pack from a driving line-out.
King took Sam Baldwin’s throw and the hosts powered through a weak defensive effort to score through number eight Baker. Tim Visser showed fancy footballing skills to provide Hamish Watson with a try, but the Liberty Stadium region got the bonus-point moments later through Biggar. Jeff Hassler broke after he was put in space by the Wales playmaker, and Biggar was on hand to finish the move and land his fourth conversion.
The visitors capitulation continued even after Justin Tipuric had been sent to the sin-bin.
Edinburgh were punished for a handling error on the Ospreys’ line by Hassler who sprinted 90 metres to score before Jonathan Spratt crashed over at the corner for try number six.
Dirksen got in on the act for number seven before replacements Grabham and Ardron to inflict their biggest defeat ever in South Wales.
